The Beauty of A Wedding Crest

Are you drowning in the sea of wedding trends and can’t figure out what you truly want? You’re not alone. It’s almost impossible not to get caught up in what’s trending this year when we have Pinterest and Tik Tok in the palm of our hands. It’s almost as if there is this unspoken pressure to create a wedding that will still be in style twenty years from now. I’m going to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunately, whatever is trending now is probably going to be vastly different from what’s trending in 20 years, heck, even five years! So I’m here to gently remind you to take the pressure off yourself and focus on details that truly matter to you.

Your Details

The details are the one place where you can sprinkle bits and pieces of things that matter to you throughout your wedding that will always stand the test of time. Sure, disco balls may be out of style in 20 years, but the love story between you and your fiancé will never be.

One of our favorite ways to capture our couple’s life and love story is through a wedding crest. This may sound like another trend, but think about it for a moment. Have you ever heard of a family crest? Historically, family crests were known as Coat of Arms which helped to identify your ancestry. Traditionally they came from the male side of the family and carried much history throughout the following generations.

Wedding Crest

Well, a wedding crest is very similar to that, but with a few changes that brought them back to the 21st century. Rather than only honoring one family or last name, we honor them both!  We utilize elements to create unique designs that are important to our couples, but also to each partner as individuals. By doing this, each of our couples gets to create something that truly honors their lives together. That’s not even the best part. The best part is that even when your wedding is over, you’ll start your married life with a family heirloom you created. I mean how special is that? Just think, this could be your family’s crest that is passed down through generations.

Meaningful Memories

I’d venture to say that you were not expecting a history lesson when you started reading this blog about wedding trends, but now that you have, I hope it inspired you! As you plan for your wedding, I encourage you to find meaningful elements to you outside of what’s trendy. It may be out of style in 20 years, but if it means something to you, that’s all that matters.
